QINGDAO, March 21 (Xinhua) — Olympic champion Li Bingjie grabbed her fourth gold medal at the Chinese national spring swimming championships by winning the 400 meters freestyle here on Tuesday.

Li, who claimed victories in the women’s 1,500m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 4x100m freestyle relay, finished her 400-meter race in 4:02.87.

Wang Shun claimed the men’s 400m individual medley in 4:14.23.

17-year-old Cheng Yujie surprisingly won the women’s 100m freestyle in 53.85, coming close to the national record held by Chen Yufei.

In other events, Liu Yaxin dominated the women’s 200m backstroke in 2:07.35, and Fei Liwei topped the men’s 1,500m freestyle in 14:59.83.
